Last Sunday Member for Mulgrave Curtis Pitt hosted the 14th Labour Day Charity Bowls Day at Innisfail.

Mr Pitt said 32 people battled it out for lawn bowl supremacy on a great day of action with perfect weather conditions.

“Runners up were the PCYC Construction workers – consisting of Adam and Michelle Willimott, and Ted and Sally Dorrington.

“The raffle prize of a family trip to Green Island was won by Danny Braun – thanks to the Quicksilver Group.

Innisfail Youth and Family Care CEO Anita Laksa said it was a generous donation and would allow the organisation to continue to provide facilities and support for vulnerable young people in the Innisfail
area.

“We greatly appreciate the support of Curtis Pitt and the wider community in supporting the Innisfail Youth Shelter,” Mrs Laksa said.

“With the money raised from the Labour Day Bowls Day, we will be able to replace and upgrade the security screens on the downstairs bedroom of the Shelter, therefore providing increased security to the young people staying at the Youth Shelter.”
