Member for Mulgrave Curtis Pitt today welcomed funding for the Innisfail Touch Association of $5,720 in the first round of Get in the Game, Get Going funding.
Mr Pitt said the Innisfail Touch Association had worked very hard to keep this low impact, low contact, family friendly sport continuing.
“This funding will allow the club to purchase much needed equipment, to train and recruit officials and volunteers, as well as conduct come and try days for the young people of the District to get them involved in physical activity,” Mr Pitt said.

Cairns area Touch Football Coordinator Darren Hunt said it was a fantastic result for touch football in Far North Queensland.
“Our clubs have faced huge challenges in recent times with natural disasters and reduced sponsorships due to tough times for businesses and supporters, so this will go a long way to helping out,” Mr Hunt said.
“I would like to take the opportunity to thank the State government through the Department of Sport and Recreation for the generous funding of touch football in our region and the support of Curtis Pitt in helping us to secure the funding for Innisfail.”
Mr Pitt congratulated other clubs in Mulgrave to receive funding, including:
