Deputy Premier and Minister for Health Paul Lucas today congratulated Member for Mulgrave Curtis Pitt on securing a big win for the Innisfail community.
Mr Lucas said Mr Pitt’s commitment to securing a CT scanner for the Innisfail Hospital was a significant boost for the Hospital in providing greater local access to enhanced radiology services.
The new CT scanner has been in operation at the hospital since the end of January – five months ahead of schedule.
“The local community raised the need for the new scanner with Curtis, and thanks to his efforts this is now in place, five months ahead of schedule,” Mr Lucas said.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Curtis for his commitment to his local community.”
Mr Pitt said the new scanner at the Innisfail Hospital means local residents can now access radiology services closer to home.
“Babinda residents will also benefit from this service,” Mr Pitt said.
“I’m pleased we have been able to deliver this important service for the local community.”
