Member for Mulgrave Curtis Pitt is encouraging Innisfail based builders and trade contractors to attend a free seminar on passive fire protection this week.
Mr Pitt said the seminar would include important technical information on DVD and useful advice from an industry expert.
“Effective passive fire protection is an essential safety component in any building, so it is important that Innisfail builders have the opportunity to learn more about this area or brush up on their existing knowledge,” Mr Pitt said.
“These shows will demonstrate how to implement best practice methods for passive fire protection systems for class two and three buildings, and help contractors to ensure their work complies with the Building Code of Australia.
“Doing the job properly when it comes to installing passive fire protection measures not only means the best possible standard of fire safety for future residents, but could also save costly rectification work down the track.”
